    Perilaku bullying akhir-akhir ini semakin meresahkan masyarakat, bukanhanya pada masyarakat umum, namun telah merasuki kehidupan pembelajaransiswa-siswa di sekolah. Perilaku bullying merupakan salah satu bentuk perilakuagresif, dapat bersifat gangguan fisik, psikis, ataupun sosial. Sasaran utamaperilaku bullying adalah individu (siswa) yang dinilai lebih lemah.Perilaku bullying, terlebih yang telah meresahkan siswa di sekolah, perlusegera dicarikan pemecahannya. Salah satu alternatif pemecahan masalah yangdiyakini dapat mengurangi, bahkan menghilangkan perilaku bullying adalahdengan mengaplikasikan bimbingan sosial berbantuan metode sosiodrama.Melalui penerapan layanan bimbingan sosial berbantuan teknik sosiodrama inidiprediksi akan dapat menjadi metode yang konstruktif dalam upaya mengatasimasalah bullying siswa di sekolah. Melalui teknik sosiodrama siswa akan merasaterilbat langsung dalam memainkan peran yang bertujuan mengubah diri sendiridan berkeinginan berperilaku lebih positif.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan bimbingansosial berbantuan metode sosiodrama untuk mengurangi perilaku bullying padasiswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bendo Kabupaten Magetan.Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bendo KabupatenMagetan, yang memiliki kecenderungan perilaku bullying, yang berjumlah 50orang siswa. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan sebanyak 30 siswa dari 50 orang siswaanggota populasi.Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan teknik angket. Analisis datapenelitian menggunakan teknik statistik, dengan rumus bangun uji-t. Hasilpenelitian menunjukan harga t-hitung lebih besar dibandingkan dengan harga ttabel,sehingga dinyatakan signifikan.Simpulan penelitian: penerapan bimbingan sosial berbantuan metodesosiodrama dapat mengurangi perilaku bullying siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1Bendo Kabupaten Magetan

    New Pool of Cortical Interneuron Precursors in the Early Postnatal Dorsal White Matter

    The migration of cortical γ-aminobutyric acidergic interneurons has been extensively studied in rodent embryos, whereas few studies have documented their postnatal migration. Combining in vivo analysis together with time-lapse imaging on cortical slices, we explored the origin and migration of cortical interneurons during the first weeks of postnatal life. Strikingly, we observed that a large pool of GAD65-GFP-positive cells accumulate in the dorsal white matter region during the first postnatal week. Part of these cells divides and expresses the transcription factor paired box 6 indicating the presence of local transient amplifying precursors. The vast majority of these cells are immature interneurons expressing the neuronal marker doublecortin and partly the calcium-binding protein calretinin. Time-lapse imaging reveals that GAD65-GFP-positive neurons migrate from the white matter pool into the overlying anterior cingulate cortex (aCC). Some interneurons in the postnatal aCC express the same immature neuronal markers suggesting ongoing migration of calretinin-positive interneurons. Finally, bromodeoxyuridine incorporation experiments confirm that a small fraction of interneurons located in the aCC are generated during the early postnatal period. These results altogether reveal that at postnatal ages, the dorsal white matter contains a pool of interneuron precursors that divide and migrate into the aC

    A FRAMEWORK FOR THE REPRESENTATION OF TWO VERSIONS OF A 3D CITY MODEL IN 4D SPACE

    3D city models are being increasingly adopted by organisations in order to serve application needs related to urban areas. In order to fulfil the different requirements of various applications, the concept of Level of Detail (LoD) has been incorporated in 3D city models specifications, such as CityGML. Therefore, datasets of different LoDs are being created for the same areas by several organisations for their own use cases. Meanwhile, as time progresses newer versions of existing 3D city models are being created by vendors. Nevertheless, the existing mechanisms for representating multi-LoD data has not been adopted by the users and there has been little effort on the implementation of a mechanism to store multiple revisions of a city model. This results in redundancy of information and the existence of multiple datasets inconsistent with each other. Alternatively, a representation of time or scale as additional dimensions to the three spatial ones has been proposed as a better way to store multiple versions of datasets while retaining information related to the corresponding features between datasets. In this paper, we propose a conceptual framework with initial considerations for the implementation of a 4D representation of two states of a 3D city model. This framework defines both the data structure of such an approach, as well as the methodology according to which two existing 3D city models can be compared, associated and stored with their correspondences in 4D. The methodology is defined as six individual steps that have to be undertaken, each with its own individual requirements and goals that have to be challenged. We, also, provide some examples and considerations for the way those steps can be implemented

    The evolution of dispersal in a Levins’ type metapopulation model

    We study the evolution of the dispersal rate in a metapopulation model with extinction and colonisation dynamics, akin to the model as originally described by Levins. To do so we extend the metapopulation model with a description of the within patch dynamics. By means of a separation of time scales we analytically derive a fitness expression from first principles for this model. The fitness function can be written as an inclusive fitness equation (Hamilton’s rule). By recasting this equation in a form that emphasizes the effects of competition we show the effect of the local competition and on the local population size on the evolution of dispersal. We find that the evolution of dispersal cannot be easily interpreted in terms of avoidance of kin competition, but rather that increased dispersal reduces the competitive ability. Our model also yields a testable prediction in term of relatedness and life history parameters

    Evaluation of galvanic technologies available for bridge structures

    The use of sacrificial anode technologies to treat corrosion damaged concrete is an option that can be considered in specific cases. This is a rapidly growing field with many new innovations appearing in the market. The sacrificial anode technologies currently available are generally less powerful than impressed current cathodic protection but they are much less complex to apply. The technology requires no installed power supply and the installation of electrical cables is mainly limited to non-critical monitoring. Uncontrolled anode-steel shorts present no problems to system function and stray current corrosion of discontinuous steel is limited. In many cases the technology can be targeted to areas of need. In general, the output of a sacrificial anode system cannot be adjusted to manage a corrosion risk. However, some sacrificial anode systems have been used in both an impressed current and a sacrificial role and future corrosion risk may be addressed by turning the system into an impressed current system, or by applying a brief impressed current treatment to arrest the corrosion process

    Genome scan of Diabrotica virgifera virgifera for genetic variation associated with crop rotation tolerance

    Crop rotation has been a valuable technique for control of Diabrotica virgifera virgifera for almost a century. However, during the last two decades, crop rotation has ceased to be effective in an expanding area of the US corn belt. This failure appears to be due to a change in the insect's oviposition behaviour, which, in all probability, has an underlying genetic basis. A preliminary genome scan using 253 amplified fragment-length polymorphism (AFLP) markers sought to identify genetic variation associated with the circumvention of crop rotation. Samples of D. v. virgifera from east-central Illinois, where crop rotation is ineffective, were compared with samples from Iowa at locations that the behavioural variant has yet to reach. A single AFLP marker showed signs of having been influenced by selection for the circumvention of crop rotation. However, this marker was not diagnostic. The lack of markers strongly associated with the trait may be due to an insufficient density of marker coverage throughout the genome. A weak but significant general heterogeneity was observed between the Illinois and Iowa samples at microsatellite loci and AFLP markers. This has not been detected in previous population genetic studies of D. v. virgifera and may indicate a reduction in gene flow between variant and wild-type beetles

    A Condensation-Ordering Mechanism in Nanoparticle-Catalyzed Peptide Aggregation

    Nanoparticles introduced in living cells are capable of strongly promoting the aggregation of peptides and proteins. We use here molecular dynamics simulations to characterise in detail the process by which nanoparticle surfaces catalyse the self- assembly of peptides into fibrillar structures. The simulation of a system of hundreds of peptides over the millisecond timescale enables us to show that the mechanism of aggregation involves a first phase in which small structurally disordered oligomers assemble onto the nanoparticle and a second phase in which they evolve into highly ordered beta-sheets as their size increases

    Using the TAP Component of the Antigen-Processing Machinery as a Molecular Adjuvant

    We hypothesize that over-expression of transporters associated with antigen processing (TAP1 and TAP2), components of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I antigen-processing pathway, enhances antigen-specific cytotoxic activity in response to viral infection. An expression system using recombinant vaccinia virus (VV) was used to over-express human TAP1 and TAP2 (VV-hTAP1,2) in normal mice. Mice coinfected with either vesicular stomatitis virus plus VV-hTAP1,2 or Sendai virus plus VV-hTAP1,2 increased cytotoxic lymphocyte (CTL) activity by at least 4-fold when compared to coinfections with a control vector, VV encoding the plasmid PJS-5. Coinfections with VV-hTAP1,2 increased virus-specific CTL precursors compared to control infections without VV-hTAP1,2. In an animal model of lethal viral challenge after vaccination, VV-hTAP1,2 provided protection against a lethal challenge of VV at doses 100-fold lower than control vector alone. Mechanistically, the total MHC class I antigen surface expression and the cross-presentation mechanism in spleen-derived dendritic cells was augmented by over-expression of TAP. Furthermore, VV-hTAP1,2 increases splenic TAP transport activity and endogenous antigen processing, thus rendering infected targets more susceptible to CTL recognition and subsequent killing. This is the first demonstration that over-expression of a component of the antigen-processing machinery increases endogenous antigen presentation and dendritic cell cross-presentation of exogenous antigens and may provide a novel and general approach for increasing immune responses against pathogens at low doses of vaccine inocula

    LOSITAN: A workbench to detect molecular adaptation based on a Fst-outlier method

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Testing for selection is becoming one of the most important steps in the analysis of multilocus population genetics data sets. Existing applications are difficult to use, leaving many non-trivial, error-prone tasks to the user.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Here we present LOSITAN, a selection detection workbench based on a well evaluated <it>F</it><sub><it>st</it></sub>-outlier detection method. LOSITAN greatly facilitates correct approximation of model parameters (e.g., genome-wide average, neutral <it>F</it><sub><it>st</it></sub>), provides data import and export functions, iterative contour smoothing and generation of graphics in a easy to use graphical user interface. LOSITAN is able to use modern multi-core processor architectures by locally parallelizing fdist, reducing computation time by half in current dual core machines and with almost linear performance gains in machines with more cores.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>LOSITAN makes selection detection feasible to a much wider range of users, even for large population genomic datasets, by both providing an easy to use interface and essential functionality to complete the whole selection detection process.</p
